Do you need to pass your driving test in a hurry? Intensive courses are available in Northern Ireland
At Sandy Arthur Training Services our Specialist Intensive Driving Courses are tailored to the students needs and ability, and we can assure you that we do not take short cuts. With people’s lives at stake, we teach "quality and safe driving for life".
The following areas will be covered by our Fully Qualified DVA / DSA Instructors
- Moving off and stopping the vehicle
- Left and right turns - Major to minor roads
- Junctions - approach and observation
- Emerging - Minor to major roads
- Awareness and anticipation - Hazard recognition
- Understanding and reaction to - Signal signs and road markings
- Crossroads and roundabouts
- Interacting with other vehicles
- Manoeuvres (turning, parking, reversing)
- Pedestrian crossings and use of signals
- Correct use of speed including dual carriageway
- Emergency stops and use of mirrors
- Car safety questions
Things to know before you take your first lesson:
- You must be at 17 years of age or older.
- You must have a full provisional L licence issued in Northern Ireland. You can obtain an application form DL1 from your local post office or Online at NIdirect.
- You must be able to read a number plate from approximately 67ft / 20.5 metres away with our without glasses
- You are not allowed to drive on a public road on your own until you have passed your driving test.
- YOU MUST have your Theory & Hazard Perception Tests PASSED before booking.
There are two tests that you need to pass:
- Theory Test – This is a computerised multiple-choice test, which also includes an interactive hazard perception test
- Driving Test – This is a practical test of your driving ability
Driving Lessons
A 1-hour assessment lesson is advisable and recommended to assess the current standard of your driving and the number of lessons required if you have already had previous lessons in the past.
Courses Available:
- 8 Day course for drivers with experience (having had 10+ lessons before or access to a car to practice)
- 10 Day course for drivers with no experience
- Courses can be tailored to suit the individual, if you have held a licence before.
- 1.5 hours prior to test, use of car throughout and test fee are included in all quoted prices.
- This is an average quote as more or less lessons may be required.
- Carried out over a period of 5-10 Days
- Courses are carried out in Coleraine ONLY
